I've been looking into buying a new AC router, bc it should be an upgrade even for older N devices. The 2.4 range was better outside my room, the speed was ok. I realize the 5g band has less range, but I didn't think it would be this poor. That improved my speed and range, but once I walked out into the hallway and into other rooms, I lose signal strength and speed on 5g band. I upgraded to 50/50 and was given the AT wcb3000n N-dual band extender. When I went upstairs, the signal and speed wasn't very good. I've had the AT router in the corner of a room on my first floor since they installed the services years ago. Upstairs in my room, coax to splitter, one side to Fios set-top box, other side to wcb3000n

ONT from outside to coax in first floor room, splitter from coax, one side to digital adapter for tv, other side to Actiontec mi424wr rev I My setup: (currently have triple play, 50/50) I'm looking to improve my wired and wireless speed, and definitely my wireless range.
