  • The quantum router I see on Ebay for $120 to $150, but why pay for it when I already have the mi424wr rev I? I don't rent or own the mi424, but it's not on my bill.Īny thoughts and help is much appreciated. Then, by cat 5e or 6, connect from a new router to one of the 2 ethernet ports on the AT extender. 3) Use my wcb3000n extender as a MoCA 1.1 adapter, so I don't have to buy a separate MoCA 1.1 or 2.0 adapter. 2) Buy the G1100 and replace the extender with it. Not sure if that's accurate.ġ) Buy one of the MoCA 2.0 Actiontec adapters, remove my wcb3000n, and connect the adapter via splitter in my room to a third party router like Asus, Netgear, etc. I read that I wouldn't be able to get MoCA 2.0 speeds, even by connecting a MoCA 2.0 adapter upstairs. Since my AT router is MoCA 1.1, how can I achieve MoCA 2.0 speeds? Third party routers seem like a good option, probably more bang for the buck but I'm not sure if I'd use these routers in AP or Bridge mode, and what the difference is. The Quantum gateway is an option, but I'm not spending $200 or throwing away more money to rent it.

I've been looking into buying a new AC router, bc it should be an upgrade even for older N devices. The 2.4 range was better outside my room, the speed was ok. I realize the 5g band has less range, but I didn't think it would be this poor. That improved my speed and range, but once I walked out into the hallway and into other rooms, I lose signal strength and speed on 5g band. I upgraded to 50/50 and was given the AT wcb3000n N-dual band extender. When I went upstairs, the signal and speed wasn't very good. I've had the AT router in the corner of a room on my first floor since they installed the services years ago. Upstairs in my room, coax to splitter, one side to Fios set-top box, other side to wcb3000n
